My four siblings and I grew up spending summer days at Tod’s Point, afternoons at Bruce Park, and Christmas Caroling at Nathanial Witherell. We all agree - there is no better place to grow up than right here in Connecticut's 36th District.&nbsp;<h4>The Art of the Possible:</h4><img src="https://run.imgix.net/31459826-b903-4426-9c46-d6466b48693b/1aa85033-82f0-46a0-8f06-6943e50d3a7c/1aa85033-82f0-46a0-8f06-6943e50d3a7c.jpeg?ixlib=js-3.8.0&amp;bri=0&amp;con=0&amp;sat=0&amp;high=0&amp;shad=0&amp;usm=0&amp;rect=0%2C0%2C1486%2C1044&amp;w=1500" alt="" caption="" align="right" alignwidth="42" tiltdirection="left" variant="framed">In our house, we were taught that politics was the art of the possible: So while my mom, a liberal Democrat, and my dad, a moderate Republican, had different perspectives on how to achieve progress, they were united in their belief that service to others was the most important thing we could do with our lives.It’s what I learned from mom and dad that led me to devote my career to trying to improve the world around me.<img src="https://run.imgix.net/31459826-b903-4426-9c46-d6466b48693b/501791a3-98ab-4a54-a524-9ef50eeac592/501791a3-98ab-4a54-a524-9ef50eeac592.png?ixlib=js-3.8.0&amp;bri=0&amp;con=0&amp;sat=0&amp;high=0&amp;shad=0&amp;usm=0&amp;rect=0%2C0%2C1402%2C1394&amp;w=1500" alt="" caption="" align="left" alignwidth="40" tiltdirection="left" variant="framed"><h3>Class Lessons:</h3>I first found my passion for service teaching 7th grade math at a school made up of mostly low-income families in Harlem, New York. I later became acting principal at 26 years old - one of the youngest in the entire state. My students faced adversity at every turn, but we did whatever it took to make sure they had the opportunity to flourish.My experience in the classroom drove home for me the dramatic impact that public policy has to either help, or hinder, each of our lives - and those of generations after us.I went to Harvard where I earned dual Master’s degrees in public policy and business because I wanted to learn how the public, private, and non-profit sectors could work more collaboratively to tackle society’s biggest challenges.And after graduating, I came home to Connecticut to help Governor Lamont’s Administration do just that.<h3>Capitol Experience:</h3><img src="https://run.imgix.net/31459826-b903-4426-9c46-d6466b48693b/7a9c9c32-5945-49c5-8fd0-f10357973be5/7a9c9c32-5945-49c5-8fd0-f10357973be5.png?ixlib=js-3.8.0&amp;bri=0&amp;con=0&amp;sat=0&amp;high=0&amp;shad=0&amp;usm=0&amp;rect=0%2C48%2C1070%2C897&amp;w=1500" alt="" caption="" align="right" alignwidth="42" tiltdirection="left" variant="framed">I spent three years working in Governor Ned Lamont's Administration, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, where I helped lead the design and implementation of policies that included the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars into Connecticut schools and infrastructure, growing the state’s economy, training thousands of workers to fill jobs, and fighting climate change. I learned in Hartford from Governor Lamont how to get our economy growing again. How strategic tax cuts, fiscal guardrails, and smart investments in our infrastructure have helped turn our state’s economy around. When President Biden took office, I was tapped to serve as a Senior Advisor in his Administration, where I was asked to help oversee the effort to reopen schools nationwide during COVID-19 and to help ensure $190 billion dollars went to support our students and teachers.<h3>Smart Investments for Generational Returns:</h3>With 12 years of public policy experience at the state, local, and national level - I know the returns that lower taxes, lower costs, and investments in public infrastructure can make. We need to continue to grow our economy and can do so by lowering costs for all Connecticut residents. We need to secure more state funding to help rebuild our crumbling schools, and to transform the conditions on our highways, roads and train stations. We need to fight everyday to eliminate gun violence and defend women’s rights. And we need to fight climate change by preparing our beaches and coastlines, and making smart investments to transition to a clean energy economy. My wife, Rachel, and I just had our first child, and there’s nothing we want more than for him to grow up with the same kind of strong foundation that this community provided for me and my siblings. I’m running for State Senate to be a champion for our district – so that our son’s generation, and all of us, can live in a Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan that we deserve. We need new leadership in Hartford. Will you join me?
